Energy supply company that builds and operates large scale wind farms.
Client faced extensive competition to winning projects in the wind energy market.
UCPartners introduced the asset management framework for the client's business cases to professionalise the design-build-operate process across the client asset's life cycle.
The model was further developed and detailed to guide both organisational development (work processes, competency model, worker skills) and the ICT-architecture needed for managing the information flows and decision support systems.
Public service organisation with 30.000 employees and around 100 office buildings.
Client wanted to reduce its energy consumption after years of autonomous growth.
UCPartners developed a set of measures that that can be applied in existing office buildings, without extensive investments or refurbishing. Employees were mobilised to play an active role in energy conservation. Available and innovative lighting and climate technology was reviewed and recommendation were made to improve local facility management.
Measures were implemented in a pilot location that acted as a good average example for this organisation leading to a 40% reduction of electricity consumption.
Distribution Systems Operator responsible for energy distribution.
Client wanted a to close the gap between its IT and business departments.
UCPartners teamed with the clients consulting organisation and designed and executed a transparent and participative transformation process. Employees were invited to co-create their new organization based on a shared vision on IT.
A business centred organisation model was implemented for the IT function alongside broad dialogue for cultural change. IT employee satisfaction climbed significantly during the transformation program and closed on an all-time high.
European energy utility company that encompasses the entire energy value chain.
Client wishes to make its staff aware and abreast on the latest developments in the EU.
UCPartners developed a set of energy value chain courses of 3-4 days from its Academy curriculum. The courses were designed and adapted for specific functions within the utility company: generic, IT, trade, production, retail, management development.
To date a few hundred participants followed the energy value chain courses successfully. The courses are fully included in the staff development programmes.
European energy market regulator.
Client needed to develop a vision on a new market model for its local energy market to govern the, so far, self-regulated market.
UCPartners created a market overview of the current energy market and its arrangements based on the energy value chain. Stakeholders were interviewed in a broad market consultation. Issues were analyzed and market model changes were proposed.
The draft vision on a new market model was used to start a formal market review process that lead to a new regulatory framework for the energy market.
Distribution Systems Operator responsible for energy distribution.
Client needed a vision on IT in order to identify important changes on time.
A joint UCPartners/client team interviewed policy makers and thought leaders, as well as external partners. Developed a 10 year IT vision firmly anchored in multiple time frames from 5 to 20 years and trend area’s society, industry and information technology.
IT vision was used internally to earmark business enabling technologies and was used externally by CXO’s. Guided the development of specific domain architectures based on a future vision not hindered by today’s politics and perceptions.
