After acquiring my Masters degree in Psychology in 1999, majoring in artificial intelligence, I joined Capgemini where I started my professional career in an advanced development unit, focusing mainly on Microsoft products. I quickly became a lead configurator and problem solver in IT development and implementation projects. My ability to rapidly familiarise myself with various business and IT environments was required in a role as technical and business process engineer in various industries and companies.
In 2002 I was asked to become lead configurator for the initial setup of the complete IT back office of start-up energy retailer energie:direct, a subsidiary of Essent, the Netherlands’ largest utility company. I actively participated in the architectural design of the company (business and IT), and became a specialist in the Excelergy software suite that was deployed to support front and backoffice operations.
I remained focused on the utility industry from that project onwards and joined UCPartners in 2006. I was engaged in projects as an Excelergy and utility subject matter expert for various clients in the Dutch utility market. Key roles involved setting up new back office processes or optimising existing work processes, both on functional and technical levels. Clients included: Any-G, “ONS groep Schiedam”, EnergieNed, Brinvoice, Essent Belgium, Essent NL, NUON and Alliander.
Throughout the years I became specialised in a wide variety of technical environments (e.g. .Net, SQL Server, Oracle, Biztalk Server, Excelergy products, ProcessRunner), and I gained experience working in RUP environments, designing with UML. I acquired my TOGAF certification as an enterprise architect in 2007. Furthermore I have gained experience in working in large programmes, always translating business issues to the best matching solutions.
Recently I have acted as programme architect at Alliander, a large dutch DSO, optimising their client and market related processes and systems given a target architectural design which was developed in a joint effort with both the Business and IT stakeholders. I was also involved in redesigning the Alliander IT organisation structure, minimizing the gap between Business and IT.
